NOTE: Effective 07/01/04 on all construction projects there will be a non-refundable fee charged for plans and specifications in the amount of $26 for projects estimated to cost up to $100,000 and $52 for projects estimated to cost beyond that amount. Cash, or business, cashier's, or personal check, or credit cards will be accepted as payment (currently only Visa and MasterCard are accepted). The City of Palo Alto Utilities Department (CPAU) seeks third party services to administer, manage and deliver a benchmarking program offered to CPAU’s small business customers in the City of Palo Alto. This Request for Proposal (RFP) is meant to enhance the effectiveness of CPAU’s existing programs in order to achieve utility usage reductions (measured in kilowatt hours, therms, and hundred cubic feet or CCF) for customers. The City of Palo Alto Recreation Division is seeking proposals from qualified firms and/or individuals to provide professional services for INSTRUCTING GYMNASTIC CLASSES FOR PRE-SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN and YOUTH. The required services and performance conditions are described in the Scope of Services, Attachment A, in the RFP documents.
Pre-School and Youth ages are from walking to 12 years. The classes that are offered should focus on “parent and me” classes, group classes for specific age groups, and sibling classes – where families with more than one child of close age range can take the class together, thus accommodating all levels of customers. Classes should have a ratio of no more than 1 instructor per 8 students.
Because of the high volume of students that register for gymnastics classes, a minimum of 20 classes total should be offered at least once a week for 8 weeks per quarter.

The Palo Alto Recreation Division is requesting proposals from tennis instruction services and/or instructors interested in providing tennis classes and private/ individual lessons for adults and youth at all skill levels. Youth ages are from 5 to 15 years and adults ages are 15 years and over. The classes and private/individual lessons that are offered should focus on novice, low intermediate, intermediate, and high intermediate levels, in order to accommodate all skill levels. Private/individual lessons will be either one student and one instructor or two students and one instructor. Group lessons should have no greater than an 8-1 student/teacher ratio for ages 9 and up and a 6-1 student/teacher ratio for ages 5 to 8.

Sports Camps must be offered during the summer break schedule as determined by the Palo Alto Unified School District. Camps may also be offered at other times throughout the year as long as space, time and funding are available. The selected proposer may be asked to provide such camps throughout the year.
